I'm looking to install GZDOOM, but I can only find .deb packages available. Is it possible to install GZDOOM on an OS like Fedora, Arch, or Slackware? What are my options?

There’s definitely a GZDOOM repo out there, and while the .deb package might work, I’d recommend looking for alternatives. Using tools like Distrobox allows for installing various package types, including .deb within a container.

Have you considered using Flatpak or compiling from source? That might be easier! Here's a link to a guide on compiling GZDOOM specifically for Fedora: [Compile GZDoom on Linux](https://zdoom.org/wiki/Compile_GZDoom_on_Linux#Fedora).

Just to add, there's a Flatpak available for GZDOOM too! You can check it out here: [GZDOOM on Flathub](https://flathub.org/en/apps/org.zdoom.GZDoom). It's usually a great universal option.

Technically, you can install any package on any Linux distro, but it might not work perfectly—like using a Snap package on Arch. Personally, I always check my distro's package catalog first. For Fedora, I’d use `dnf search`, and for Arch, you can look in AUR.

If you're using Arch, chances are there's already a package made for it. I checked the AUR and found GZDOOM ready to install! Generally, it's best to use your package manager instead of downloading from websites, as that can cause dependency issues.
