I'm considering getting a MacBook Neo for its durability and repairability since my old Latitude isn't cutting it for college anymore. However, I'm unsure if I can run Linux on it since I've heard that non-Intel MacBooks, especially those running on an iPhone chip, might not support Linux. My preferred distribution would be AntiX, but if Linux or BSD isn't an option for this device, I'd rather not spend money on it and a USB-C to A adapter. Can anyone clarify whether it's possible to install Linux on a MacBook Neo?

Unfortunately, you can't run Linux natively on a Neo since it uses an iPhone chip, not Intel processors. Your best bet would be to use a virtual machine, but that might not perform well given the specs.
If repairability is key for you, you might want to consider getting a ThinkPad instead. They're known for their durability and are quite affordable on the second-hand market. There are some excellent deals for refurbished models out there.

Totally agree! I snagged a T14 Gen 5 for just $200 from someone who was clearing out old stock. Totally worth it for the build quality!
