Hey everyone! I'm pretty new to Linux and I'm enjoying using Mint XFCE on my old Dell Inspiron N5010. Now, I have this ancient Lenovo Tab 2 A10-30 that I'm quite attached to; it's been with me through school and uni, and the battery still holds up decently. I've been trying to find custom ROMs for it but haven't had much luck. I'm wondering if switching to Linux could be a viable option for this tablet. Are there any tutorials out there that cover which Linux distribution to choose and how to go about installing it? Thanks so much in advance! (Apologies for my English!)

If you're really set on trying Linux, just a heads-up that you might face issues because there’s a lack of drivers provided by manufacturers for these tablets. There’s no universal method to install Linux on them, unfortunately. But if you're feeling adventurous, you might want to look into forums where users share success stories or alternative methods to modify the device.
Unfortunately, installing Linux directly on Android tablets like yours can be really challenging since they usually don't have UEFI support. With that in mind, I'd recommend looking into alternatives like Lineage OS, which is a free version of Android that can update your device—but make sure it's compatible with your specific model! Here are a couple of links that might help with the installation: [Link 1](https://tweakdroid.com/lineage/lenovo-tab-2-a10-30-tb2-x30f-uk-tb2-x30f/) and [Link 2](https://www.getdroidtips.com/lineage-os-14-1-lenovo-tab-2-a10-30/). Good luck!
You're probably not going to get desktop Linux running on an Android tablet. Your best bet is indeed exploring Lineage OS for an updated Android experience, but if you really want to dive into Linux, maybe consider investing in a low-cost Linux-compatible tablet or device instead. It’ll give you a much smoother learning experience!
Thanks for the suggestion! I'll consider looking for a Linux-friendly device!
Thanks! A bit sad but thanks for letting me know.
