I'm wondering if it's possible to get a job if I become really good at just one programming language, even if I don't have a degree yet. Can I showcase my projects in that language to improve my chances of getting hired? I feel a bit lost about how to approach this situation.

Getting a job right now can be tough, especially since the job market is super competitive. There are plenty of people out there with degrees and experience, so you might find it hard to stand out with just one language and no formal education. I did some mentoring this summer, and trust me, the situation isn’t great.
Just start applying wherever you can! You might find opportunities in places like university labs where they might not pay a lot, but it could give you real experience.
Honestly, it's a bit of a long shot. In this market, a lot of employers are looking for candidates with either experience or a degree. But if you can prove your skills are worth it, some might be willing to overlook that.
Don't let that discourage you! Most of my coworkers don’t specialize in just one language. Just focus on building projects and apply for entry-level jobs. These positions often value potential and soft skills more than anything else.

True, but not all programming languages are equal in demand. For example, C++ developers are really sought after.
