I currently have 16GB of RAM (2 x 8GB sticks) and I'm planning to add 16GB more (another 2 x 8GB sticks) from a friend, but they're a different brand. I have a couple of questions: 1. Is it okay to use RAM from different brands together? 2. If I fill all four slots, will there be any performance issues?

Mixing different brands of RAM usually works fine, but you'll be limited to the speed of the slowest stick. It’s worth running some benchmarks before and after to see how it performs with your specific setup. Just make sure they're both compatible with your motherboard!

I have 2 XPG 8GB sticks and just added 2 8GB Kingston sticks. So far, it's been stable on my end!

You can use different brands together, but keep in mind that it might not perform as well. Filling all four slots could reduce the maximum speed a little, but generally, it should still be fine. Just don’t expect the best optimal performance!
