Can I Mix Different Sets of 2x16GB DDR5 RAM Modules?

I'm trying to upgrade my system to 64GB of DDR5 RAM, but prices are sky-high right now. I was considering getting 2x16GB sticks first, then buying another 2x16GB later on. I've seen some advice online saying that mixing different models could lead to instability, especially if I add one stick later. Is it feasible to mix these sticks, or should I just go for a complete set all at once?

Running four sticks of DDR5 might not be smooth sailing. It can really stress your memory controller compared to DDR4, so results can vary. It's a bit of a gamble! If you're looking to keep things stable, you might want to think about selling your initial 2x16GB sticks down the line and opting for 2x32GB instead.

I did some digging, and it's true that four sticks can be tricky with memory controllers. Selling your current sticks for 2x32GB sounds like a safer bet to avoid headaches later!
