I'm not too savvy with tech, but I'm interested in modifying a flip phone to work with an iPhone 13 SIM card in the US. I've been looking at the Motorola v525 and the Motorola Razr. I'm open to the idea of replacing some internal components if necessary. Is it possible to make this work, or are there too many hurdles to overcome?

Unfortunately, it’s not an easy task. While there might be LTE-capable flip phones coming soon, modifying an old phone is tricky. The components are carefully designed to fit the phone's structure, and swapping out parts isn't as straightforward as it may seem.
The v525 and Razr are likely 2G models, and since a lot of networks are shutting down 2G support, especially T-Mobile, you might be better off looking for a flip phone that supports LTE instead.
As long as the flip phones have a modem compatible with US networks, you could theoretically replace the SIM. However, if they’re restricted to certain regions, it may not be a simple fix. Just make sure you’re working with digital phones, ideally 3G or better, since older versions won’t work on current networks.
