I'm just starting out with PC building and I'm on a tight budget. I'm only 16 and can't get a part-time job yet, but my birthday is coming up in June, and I'm planning to save up for some upgrades then. My main question is: is it even possible to build a gaming PC with just $200 in 2026? If it's feasible, I'd love to hear any recommendations for components. Also, keep in mind that my total budget for everything (monitor, headphones, etc.) is also $200, so I'm quite limited.

You’d be hard-pressed to find anything even semi-decent for that price. Your budget for peripherals shouldn’t match your PC hardware budget. It's probably wiser to look for a cheap second-hand keyboard and mouse to start with. If you can bump your total budget to around $400, you might find something usable in the second-hand market. YouTube has some great budget build videos that might help you too!
For sure! Building slowly can help you spread the cost and find good deals.
Honestly, no way. $200 isn’t going to cut it for a gaming PC, unless you're super lucky finding a used one. You might get something old, but for a decent gaming experience, saving for more—around $1000—would get you a much better setup. Just keep your options open and maybe look for some good pre-built deals later on.

That's a smart approach! I did something similar years ago, asking my parents for a loan to build my PC. Paid it off by doing odd jobs for neighbors and using my birthday money.
