Hey everyone! I'm a 10th grader and my school puts a lot of emphasis on math, science, and research. This year, we have to conduct our own study, and I've chosen to explore how machine learning and computer vision can be used to evaluate the quality of mangoes. After discussing with my team, we decided it would be better to create an app instead of a physical machine. However, we need to present our work in a month and a half for a competition. I'm a total beginner when it comes to coding and while my dad knows how to code, he's pretty busy and I'm hesitant to lean too much on him. I really want to know if you think it's realistic for us to pull this off in the given time. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Starting from scratch, I'd say it's not very feasible. If you're looking to learn everything needed and still build an app, you're probably looking at 6 months at least, even with some help from your dad.
I think it's technically possible, but expect the end product to be pretty basic. You'll want some solid data on good and bad mangoes, and it’s going to get really hectic trying to get it all coded in time.
Definitely! Finding some existing datasets could help speed things up.
It could be feasible, but not considering you're a beginner. If your team is dedicated and organized, you might just pull it off, but keep expectations realistic.
Yeah, I think teamwork will be crucial. How’s your team’s coding background?
Your dad’s concerns are valid. If you can find and build upon an existing project, that might ease some of the burden and make it more achievable.

Totally agree! Starting fresh is tough, especially with a complex project like this.
