I'm looking to upgrade my storage by replacing my current HDD with a new SSD. I'm also planning to format the HDD. Is it okay to just throw the old HDD away and set up the SSD while also changing my GPU, which currently doesn't work? Do I need to worry about drivers or anything while I'm making these changes? Any advice would be appreciated!

If the HDD you're replacing is your main drive (the one with Windows), you'll need to reinstall the OS on the new SSD. You don't need to worry about the GPU drivers right now, just make sure to back up any important data before you get rid of the HDD!
Is your HDD the only drive that contains the system partitions like the boot partition?
Yes, but there's nothing important stored on it.
It's usually better to clone your old drive onto the SSD first. But if you have nothing important on your HDD and want to wipe everything, then you can skip cloning and just format the SSD after installation!
Are you sure? I really just want to delete everything!
So I could do it like this?
- Toss the HDD
- Install the new SSD
- Put in the new GPU
Will that work?
