Can I Resize My Arch Linux Partition After Deleting Windows?

Hey everyone! I just installed Arch Linux on an 8GB partition because I wanted a dual boot setup with Windows, but I'm planning to fully remove Windows soon. My question is: once Windows is gone, can I make my existing Arch Linux installation take over the free space left behind? Or will it stay in its current partition, forcing me to reinstall it to use the entire disk?

Yes, you can definitely move and resize partitions! Just make sure to back up your data first—mistakes can happen, and it's easy to accidentally lose something important.

I recommend checking out the Arch Wiki for more information about partitioning. It's super useful! Also, be careful about modifying the root partition while it's active—better to do it from a live session.

To do it, boot from a live USB that has a disk management program, like Ubuntu. From there, you can delete the Windows partition and then expand your Arch Linux partition to fill the space. It's straightforward as long as you're booted from the live USB!
