I'm considering switching to Linux and I want to test out a few distributions like Mint. Is it possible to run them through Windows Sandbox? I'd like to easily close it and return to my normal setup afterwards.

You can definitely give it a shot! While it’s not strictly necessary to set up a full virtual machine, using the Sandbox can work. However, I recommend live booting various distros from a USB to really explore without modifying your setup. That's often the simplest way to find one you like.

Check out distrosea.com! It’s a great resource to find and test various Linux distributions. It might save you some time looking for the right one!

Consider creating a Ventoy disk. This way, you can drop your ISO files onto it and get a menu to select which Linux distro you want to try out without any hassle. It's really convenient!

Windows Sandbox is cool, but it’s more of a lightweight Windows environment. If you're looking for a proper Linux experience, VirtualBox or something like Hyper-V might suit you better. They allow for safer testing without messing with your main system.
