I'm currently dual booting Windows on Disk 0 and Linux on Disk 1 on my home PC. I'm considering removing Disk 1 and placing it in an enclosure to run Linux through a USB cable. I've heard it's possible, but someone mentioned it damaged their BIOS and motherboard, so I wanted to check the safety of this first. Additionally, can I run Linux from this external drive on another PC, like my office setup? I'm looking to get comfortable with Linux to transition to it as my primary OS eventually.

No way would running Linux from a USB break your BIOS or motherboard—that's a myth! Just make sure the BIOS settings match on both machines, like using either Legacy or UEFI.
So, I can run Linux from USB as long as I set BIOS to UEFI, right?
