I'm looking to completely switch from Windows 10 to Linux and I have three SSDs to work with. Two of them are dedicated to storing music and photos, while the third one is where I intend to install my new OS. My plan is to disconnect the two storage SSDs before I install Kubuntu, so I'm wondering if, once the installation is done, I can just reconnect the other two SSDs and access my files like normal? I couldn't find much info specifically addressing this scenario, so any advice would be appreciated!

You're all set with three drives. Just to clarify: why choose Kubuntu? Is it because of the KDE environment? And are your drives NTFS? If they are, don’t worry, you can still access that data in Linux!
Have you checked out the migration page on the wiki? It's packed with useful tips for switching over, plus some migration advice should help you get started!
Yes, you should be able to plug in your SSDs with photos and music afterwards without issues, but keep in mind that if they're formatted as NTFS, it might cause some hiccups. Just be cautious!
Exactly! It would be a good idea to copy your files to a secure location before you format anything. If you convert the drives to ext4, they'll perform better and Linux will handle permissions correctly.
I picked Kubuntu for the aesthetic and watched some videos about it. My PC is a bit older with a core i5-3570, so it felt like a good match. They’re all NTFS, but I've disconnected them to install, and it’s going well so far!
