Hey everyone, I've undervolted my GPU and noticed it's drawing less than 70 watts. I'm wondering if it's possible to unplug the 6-pin connector to tidy up my build and improve airflow. Is this feasible, or will it cause issues? Thanks for any insights!

Unfortunately, you can’t just unplug the 6-pin connector. Your GPU needs all its power connectors plugged in to work properly; otherwise, it will throw an error at boot. The motherboard only provides around 50 watts, so the additional power has to come from the GPU connectors.

It's mainly about ensuring stable power delivery. If the GPU doesn’t get enough power, it won’t function correctly.

Why exactly do you need to keep all connectors in? Just trying to understand.

Honestly, unplugging the 6-pin cable won't significantly improve airflow. If you're looking for better cooling, it's more effective to optimize your case fans instead.

Good point! I guess focusing on fan placement might be a better route.
