Can I Safely Use My Windows SSD as a Data Drive with Linux?

I recently installed Bazzite on a 2TB SSD, while my 4TB SSD holds Windows and my most-played games. Is it safe to access the Windows SSD to play those games without needing to download duplicates? I've heard that Linux could potentially harm Windows, but I'm not clear if this is due to having both operating systems on one drive or simply from mounting the drive itself.

I’ve got both Windows and Linux drives hooked up too, but I use dual boot to keep them separate. For file transfers, I just use a USB flash drive. It's a hassle-free way to avoid any potential problems between the two systems.

I run different operating systems on separate drives and have had no issues accessing files between them. I use Aurora for Linux and can access the Windows drive easily when needed. Just be careful not to mess up any Windows files, and you should be okay!

You don't have to worry too much about Linux ruining your Windows setup. It's totally doable to use your Windows SSD to run games in Linux, but keep in mind there can be issues, like slower load times if you’re using an NTFS partition. Just make sure to mount it correctly to avoid some common problems. The Bazzite developers don’t officially support this setup, but many users have successfully done it without breaking anything.
