Hi everyone! I need some advice about an old Samsung tablet my grandma has. She thinks I can fix it, but I'm not very tech-savvy. The tablet is from around 2017-2018, and she's been struggling with it. It has a few apps and some photos, but the storage is always full. I've tried clearing the cache and deleting photos, but it seems like most of the space is taken up by the system. Right now, it's almost unusable for her. I'm wondering if there's anything I can do to fix this situation. Would a factory reset help, or is it simply too old to salvage? Thanks for any help!

Definitely back up her photos first! A factory reset can clear up temporary files and give you a clean slate to work with. Just keep in mind that this tablet is older and might not support the latest apps or updates, but for basic usage, it should still work fine.
Before you reset it, make sure to back up all of her important stuff! It’d be a bummer to lose her photos or anything else she wants to keep. Just a friendly reminder!
Can you let us know what the storage size is? If it's only 64GB, the operating system likely takes up a lot of space since back in those days it was all most people could afford. A factory reset might be necessary to start fresh. Just keep in mind that apps these days can take up quite a bit of storage too, so it's not completely useless, just outdated.
Are you asking about RAM or actual storage?
If the tablet has a microSD slot, you might be able to expand the storage by adding a flash memory card. It’s worth checking the settings to see if it can be 'adopted' as extra memory instead of just storage. That could give her some breathing room!
Yes, it is 64GB. Will a factory reset help with the system taking up all the space? Thanks!
