Hey everyone! I have a couple of questions that I'm hoping you can help me with. First, I accidentally touched my MacBook charger with a damp towel about a month ago, and since then, I've been using a shorter cable meant for my phone. I really don't want to spend the money on a new charger since expenses are tight for me right now. Is my charger still safe to use, or should I just buy a new one? It seems trivial, but I'm hesitant.
Secondly, my mom received a notification about the end of support for her Windows 10 computer. I'm not very tech-savvy, and we don't really know anyone who can advise us. What are her options moving forward? Any alternatives or steps she should take? Thanks in advance!

For the charger, I wouldn't worry too much. If it wasn't damaged beyond a damp towel touch, it's probably fine to use again after letting it sit unplugged for a day to dry out. As for your mom's computer, she can upgrade to Windows 11 for free if her device is compatible. Just check her system settings to see if she qualifies for the upgrade.
I say just go ahead and test the cable! If there’s no rust and it didn’t get soaked, you’re likely good to go. For Windows 10, she’ll still get security updates through the Extended Security Updates program, but she might need to pay for it or set up OneDrive to keep her documents synced. Just make sure to check how her system is running before taking any big steps.
Thanks for your insights! The charger seems fine after drying, and I’ll look into the Windows updates options.
