I'm trying to find a way to permanently prevent the Mark of the Web (MotW) from being applied to files downloaded into a specific folder. I've used PowerShell to unblock files and I know about the Properties option, but I want to skip those steps altogether. Is there any method available to default unblocking for files downloaded to a certain location?

Unfortunately, the Mark of the Web is a security feature that's there to protect you, so you can't completely turn it off. If you're looking to download files from a specific online source without seeing that message, consider adding that site to your trusted sites list or the publisher to your trusted publishers. If you're dealing with a document you created yourself, like in Excel, signing it may also help!

That's a fair point, but honestly, it can be really frustrating sometimes!
