Can I Use a Higher Voltage Power Cord for My Monitor?

I recently picked up a new monitor that didn't come with a power cord. The monitor specifications are 100-240V, 50-60Hz, and 1.5A. I've been searching for the right cord but can't find one that exactly matches those specs. However, I did come across a power cord rated for 10A and 250V. Is it safe to use this higher-rated cord with my monitor?

As long as it's a simple power cord and not an adapter, you're all good. The ratings just tell you the maximum it can safely handle. Your monitor will work perfectly fine with it!

Thanks for the reassurance!

Exactly, just make sure it’s not one with a built-in AC adapter. If it’s just a direct plug, you’re in the clear.

Definitely, using a cord that's rated for higher amps and voltage is okay. Your monitor will only draw the power it needs, so a higher-rated cord won’t cause any issues or damage. It's safe to use!

The voltage rating on the cord is basically the maximum it can handle. So yes, you should be perfectly fine using a higher voltage cord with your monitor.
