Can I Use a Monitor with My CPU and Another with My GPU?

I'm trying to set up dual monitors for my PC. My main monitor is connected to my NVIDIA RTX 3050, and I want to connect a second monitor for other tasks like Discord and browsing. The problem is I don't have enough ports on my graphics card. I have one DVI and two DisplayPorts on my GPU, and I'm currently using a VGA for one monitor with a VGA to HDMI adapter. My motherboard has a VGA and an HDMI port, but when I plug in a second monitor to either of those, it doesn't seem to work. Is it possible to connect one monitor to my GPU and another to my CPU? What do I need to make this work?

Whether or not you can connect a second monitor to your CPU really depends on your motherboard and CPU. If your CPU has integrated graphics, it generally should work. Some Intel motherboards can reroute the video signal from the graphics card to the motherboard outputs, but if it's not working, it's probably missing one of those features.

I have an Intel Core i7-3770, but I'm not too sure about the motherboard specifics since it was a pre-built system. Does that matter?
