I've recently bought a 24" portable monitor that comes with a 12V 3A power supply. I want to see if I can use a power bank to power this monitor, since I don't always have access to an electrical outlet. I tried using a different cable with the power bank and got the LED on the monitor to light up, but the screen itself doesn't turn on. I'm guessing it's not getting enough amps? The original black cable outputs 3A. Can anyone help me understand if it's possible to power the monitor with a power bank and what I might be missing?

To make this work, you'll likely need a high current power bank tailored for laptops, like the Anker 737 model. Those are designed for higher power demands.
First off, check the specs of your power bank. They vary a lot in terms of output amps and capacity. If your power bank is only 10,000 mAh at 9 volts, it might not have enough juice compared to what your monitor's transformer provides. You're gonna want a power bank that can output at least 12V and 3A.
Sounds like you need a power bank around 12V and ideally one that gives you at least 40 watts to ensure it can handle the load. Anything lower won't cut it.
Just make sure you have the right connector for your monitor that matches the 12V/3A requirement. There are some good power banks that offer different outputs, including a 12V DC barrel plug. For example, one with a 100W AC outlet and USB ports would be ideal. Just be cautious about the polarity when connecting it!

Is the problem more about the wattage or the voltage when it comes to powering the monitor?
