I'm looking for advice on using a wireless remote for my husband's nonprofit during a stage presentation. Our setup will have the laptop in a tech room that is enclosed with plywood walls. Will a wireless remote still function properly through these walls? Is there any specific feature or component I should look for to ensure it works well? Thanks in advance for your help!

It's a good idea to try out the room before the actual presentation to set everything up. This way, your husband can test different remotes and practice navigating his slides while getting a feel for the space.
I use a Logitech Spotlight Presentation Remote that works up to about 100 feet. It does pretty well in big spaces, but I'm not sure how it would perform when there are walls in the way. You might also consider using a USB active extension cable for a stronger connection.
Have you considered Logitech's Logi Bolt receiver? It's designed to have an extended range and has worked for me even through metal mesh, so it might handle your wall situation better than most.
Are you talking about a presentation remote? If it connects via USB, the range typically wouldn’t be beyond around 10 meters. That might not be enough for a walled-off area.
That's what I'm worried about! Even strong signals can weaken with enough barriers.

I found a remote that claims a 100 ft range, which should cover you, but yeah, the wall could affect it.
