Hey everyone! I've been dealing with a broken laptop screen for a while now and I'm stuck in safe mode. I've tried a ton of tips, but nothing has worked for me. I'm considering disconnecting my laptop's main screen to see if I can use my external monitor instead. I have a Lenovo IdeaPad 130-14lKB. Would this method actually work?

You usually don’t need to disconnect your laptop's built-in monitor. Just connect your external one, and then right-click on the desktop to access Display Settings and select "Show only on 2". That should do the trick!
Just a heads up—disconnecting the laptop screen isn’t necessary most of the time. But if the lid is closed, the HDMI output might be your primary screen. Just keep in mind that your sleep settings should be adjusted so that the laptop doesn’t go to sleep when you close the lid.
If the external monitor isn’t working right away, try using the shortcut Win + P. It might be set to only display on the broken laptop monitor. This could help get your external monitor recognized.
