Hey everyone! I'm diving into PC gaming and considering a setup with an Intel i7-2600 CPU and an RX 580 GPU. My concern is whether this combo is capable of running modern games, especially since the CPU feels pretty outdated to me. I've got a tight budget of around $500 and I'm used to gaming on a laptop with an Intel Core i5 (9th gen) and GTX 1650. Right now, I get around 50 FPS on medium settings for AAA titles. I'm hoping to hit 60 FPS at 900-1080P. Should I stick with my laptop for now and save up for something better, or is this PC a decent upgrade? Also, if I decide to upgrade the CPU and GPU later, will I need a new motherboard? Can I use DDR4 RAM with this setup? Thanks for any advice!

Honestly, that setup is pretty outdated and might struggle with modern titles. The i7-2600 is limited and only supports DDR3 RAM, which isn't ideal for gaming now. It's likely that the RX 580 would be the only part still usable for less demanding games. I'd suggest looking into a more modern build, like a Ryzen 5 3600 combo with DDR4 RAM for better performance.
Did you say that the RX 580 can still work for low-spec games? What frame rates could I expect with that?
