I picked up an Xbox 360 S hard drive from a thrift store, and I wanted to experiment by installing Windows 11 on it. However, when I try to boot up my computer, the hard drive doesn't show up in the BIOS. It is visible in my file explorer, so I can add files, but it's not being recognized for a Windows installation. Does anyone have advice on how to troubleshoot this issue?

Yeah, it sounds like you're encountering typical behavior. These drives can be very useful, but they won't necessarily work out of the box for different systems. If you want to use it for Windows, formatting it might be the best route. Just make sure you've got all your data backed up first!
This is actually pretty common when using hard drives that were originally formatted for consoles. They typically won't show up in the BIOS as a bootable drive. You're not missing anything—it’s just how those drives work since they're configured differently. You might want to check if you need to format the drive to make it compatible with Windows. Just be careful, as that can erase any existing data on it!

Thanks, I was worried about messing things up. I’ll definitely back it up before trying any formatting!
