I'm curious if I can take the bare wires from an Ethernet cable and connect them directly to my computer's Ethernet port. Is that possible, or would I run into issues?

Not really! While you could technically connect the bare wires to the appropriate pins, they'd need to be held securely in place. Plus, you'd have to strip the insulation off the wires, which makes it complicated. In theory, it might work, but in practice, it's a hassle.

Yeah, someone could design a housing to hold the wires in place correctly. That would make it more feasible!
