I'm trying to understand how the Claude Max plans work. If I choose the Max plan and use KiloCode (or something like Cursor), selecting either Claude Sonnet 4 or Opus 4, will I still be able to use my API key to get 50 or 100 sessions and process 200 requests within about 5 hours? I want to confirm that I don't have to switch to using Claude Code or their web interface, since I'd prefer to keep using KiloCode in VSCode for my projects.

The API key operates separately from your subscription plan. You actually pay for every request regardless of the Max plan, which doesn't work well if you're trying to integrate it with tools like Cursor or KiloCode in VSCode. That’s a bummer since it means you'd have to change how you usually work.
Unfortunately, you won't get an API key with the Max plan. It seems you're limited to using their IDE only. If all your work is set up in your own IDE with KiloCode, it's going to be a hassle since you'd have to copy and paste your work to use it with Max. Pretty frustrating, right?
So, it sounds like I’d be stuck switching my whole setup if I go with Max? That's a huge shift from my usual workflow.
