I'm considering making the switch from Windows to Ubuntu, but I really rely on Microsoft Office, Teams, and OneDrive for work and personal tasks. I know there are alternatives like LibreOffice, but they just don't cut it for me since no one I work with uses them. Is there a way to get the full versions of these Microsoft applications on Ubuntu, or am I stuck with just using them in a web browser?

Unfortunately, using these apps on Ubuntu isn't straightforward. You could run them in a virtual machine or stick with Windows. Some folks might say you can use a ton of command lines to make it happen, but that's probably not for everyone. Happy New Year!
Ha! Yeah, I've heard of that command-line magic. Definitely not something I’m ready for, either.
You can technically use Office, Teams, and OneDrive by accessing their web versions through your browser. They do work, but keep in mind that the online versions have fewer features compared to the desktop applications.
That's true! OneDrive has some features that just aren’t available in the browser, and the Office online apps are definitely limited. Not sure about Teams, but that’s something to think about if you're really relying on these tools.
Yeah, their focus seems to be moving towards the web, like the new Outlook, which feels more like a web app than desktop software. It definitely swayed my decision to go full Linux.
You might want to check out Winboat; it’s a project designed to run Windows applications on Linux. It could help you with Office apps, but results may vary.
Microsoft Teams has an official Linux version! They’ve been supporting it for a while now, and you can find more info here: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/blog/microsoftteamsblog/microsoft-teams-is-now-available-on-linux/1056267. It's worth checking out if you’re serious about switching.

Happy New Year! Thanks for clarifying that—it sounds a bit daunting. I appreciate the heads-up!
