Can I Use More RAM Than My CPU Supports?

I'm building a new PC with a 9950x3d processor and a GIGABYTE X870E AORUS Elite WIFI7 motherboard. While shopping for components, I accidentally bought 256GB of RAM, not realizing that my CPU supports a maximum of 192GB. The 256GB kit was only about $40 more than the 192GB option. I'm curious—if I install the 256GB, will my CPU limit it to 192GB, or could there be other issues?
