I've got an HP laptop that my grandma gifted me for Christmas, marketed as a gaming laptop. Unfortunately, it runs pretty slow with most of my games and applications. I've been hearing that a desktop PC might be a better investment, but I don't want to buy a monitor. Is there a way to connect my laptop to a PC and use it as a display?

There are devices that let you convert an HDMI output from your PC to a USB input on your laptop. You might be able to use OBS to view your PC's display in a window on your laptop. Just keep in mind there could be some lag, especially during gaming sessions.
If you have a TV with HDMI, that's a great alternative! You can connect your PC to the TV and use it as a monitor without needing to buy anything extra. Plus, you can usually find inexpensive monitors at thrift stores if you want a dedicated setup.
Unfortunately, you can't directly connect a PC to a laptop to use it as a monitor, as most laptops only have video outputs. However, you could use software to stream your desktop to your laptop, but this would require a separate monitor or a TV instead.
That's a clever solution! Thrift stores often have some good finds for cheap.
