I'm in a bit of a pickle and need some advice. My laptop's internal battery has swollen, and I'm really concerned about its safety. Since it's my only laptop and I can't afford to replace the battery right now, I'm wondering if I can just remove the battery and still use the laptop while it's plugged into the AC adapter. I've heard different things about how internal batteries work compared to external ones, and I'd love some clarity on this before I take any drastic measures.

Yes, you can absolutely disconnect the battery, but be very careful when you're doing it. Make sure not to damage any internal components while you're working in there.
No worries at all! You should be able to take out the battery and run your laptop plugged in. I did that for quite a while while waiting for my replacement battery to arrive, and it worked perfectly. My laptop is pretty old and I use it for testing Linux, so I can confirm it can be done!
Many office laptops, like Dell Latitudes, usually run just fine on AC power without a battery. I'm not too sure about your Mouse laptop, though, but internal batteries generally allow for similar functionality as external ones when removed, so you should be okay!
Okay, that sounds good to know. I guess I was just worried about the whole internal vs. external battery thing.
It really depends on your laptop model. Most laptops will work just fine with the battery removed, but some, especially gaming ones, might throttle performance if they don't have a battery installed. Rarely, a few models won’t run at all without the battery, so you'll want to check the specific details for your model.
I actually have a gaming laptop by Mouse. Does that change anything?

That’s reassuring to hear! I was really worried it wouldn’t work without the battery. Thanks!
