Can I Use My Old PSU Cables with a Newer Model?

I'm curious if I can reuse the cables from my old RM650X power supply with my recently purchased RM850x 3.1 ATX power supply. I got a new GPU that needs a 3 8-pin connector, but I lost the original cables for my old PSU. I bought a new PSU from the same product line, so I think they use the same Type 4 cables. However, I'm unsure if they are actually compatible with each other.

Check out the Corsair compatibility chart to be certain. Double-check everything until you're 100% sure, as any change in pinouts on the PSU can risk damaging your components.

You should be fine since both PSUs are made by CWT and use Type 4 cables. That said, I personally wouldn’t reuse PSU cables. Better safe than sorry with all the risks involved.

I would suggest avoiding that unless you find solid evidence of compatibility. There’s really not much standardization, even between different models from the same brand.
