I'm thinking about transferring my old SSD that has Windows 10 installed to a brand new motherboard. Is there a chance I'll run into issues doing this, or would it be better to format the SSD and install a fresh version of Windows?

It's best to do a fresh install for everything to run smoothly. With Windows 10 nearing its end of life, you might want to upgrade to Windows 11 while you're at it! Just to avoid any headaches down the line.
I forgot about that too! So a fresh install of Windows 11 it is!
