I'm in a bit of a pickle here. I don't have WiFi at home right now, and I need to print something urgently. Is there a way to connect an Ethernet cable from my phone to my printer to utilize my mobile data? Are there adapters or devices that can help with this?

For some models, AirPrint or WiFi Direct might save you a lot of trouble. No need for a wired connection if your printer supports those options!

Yeah, you can definitely find USB to Ethernet adapters for under $10 on Amazon. Using hotspot mode will turn your phone into a WiFi access point. Plus, a lot of printers have WiFi Direct, so they can directly connect to your phone without needing an internet connection.

You might want to try using your phone as a hotspot! If your phone supports it, a USB-C to Ethernet adapter could also work. Just be sure your phone allows mobile data to be routed through that adapter instead of connecting to a WiFi network.

If you have an older router lying around, that could also come in handy! You don’t need an active internet connection for it to let your phone and printer talk to each other over WiFi.

Depending on your phone model, using a USB-C dock might work! I plugged in my iPad once and it recognized an Ethernet connection, so it’s worth a shot if you have compatible gear.
