Can I Use Radiator Fans as Case Fans?

I'm currently building my computer and considering swapping out my RGB fans for some non-RGB radiator fans to use as case fans. The fans will be positioned at the bottom of my Hyte Y70 case, so the RGB feature isn't necessary there. However, I'm running into an issue: the fan connectors are quite short and won't reach the motherboard. Also, the screws designed for these fans go directly through them, making it impossible to secure them properly. Is there a way to make this work? Any tips or suggestions?

That's a crazy coincidence! The fans you referred to should come with screws. You can definitely use the screws from your case fans to mount the original radiator fans. However, since you're dealing with three separate fans for the radiator compared to the single RGB fan setup, just keep that in mind. And about the radiator placement, I'd suggest mounting it on the side panel for better aesthetics and temperature management, just keep an eye on your GPU temps!

You might want to consider picking up some fan splitters or extension cables to resolve the length issue. This way, your fans can connect properly to the motherboard without any hassle.

Just finished building my PC in the same case! I swapped my AIO fans with regular ones too, and the original fans from the AIO need short, coarse screws to mount them securely. If your new fans didn’t come with those, you’ll need to find some separately. I ran into a problem too; one fan's PWM connector was too short, so I bought some extension cables to tidy up the setup.
