How to Run MS Office 2019 on Fedora Without a VM?

Hey everyone! I'm using Fedora Workstation and I need to run MS Office 2019 because I have a valid license for it. Unfortunately, I can't use the 2013 or 2016 versions with this license. I've tried using virtual machines, but I'm looking for alternatives. I attempted to use Bottles for the online installer, but it only got to 3%. I also tried OnlyOffice but encountered issues with PowerPoint presentations, including laggy transitions despite having hardware acceleration on, and I had similar problems with LibreOffice. Any suggestions?

+1 for WinBoat! It's really easy to set up, and I found that running Windows in a container is often lighter on resources compared to a full VM.

Check out WinApps. It lets you run Windows applications more smoothly than a traditional VM. I’ve heard good feedback on it! You can find it on GitHub: github.com/winapps-org/winapps.

You might want to look into WinBoat or WinApps. They both require a decent amount of RAM, but they let you run Windows in a VM and connect via remote desktop. Keep in mind, though, you’ll need a Windows copy to set it up.

I recommend using a VM. It's one of the more straightforward ways to run MS Office, even if it’s a bit resource-heavy.
