I'm trying to add a second YouTube account on my Android device, but every time I attempt to do so, it insists on adding the entire Google account to my phone. Is there a way to have a separate YouTube account without having to link the Google account to my device? I need this second account mainly for contacting a channel via email and managing content, while keeping my personal account separate for viewing and commenting. This whole process seems unnecessarily complicated.

Yeah, as far as I know, it's a package deal. You’ll need to add the Google account for all its services, including YouTube, Drive, and Gmail. It would be nice if they offered a solution for just using YouTube without all the extra baggage.
Unfortunately, it seems you have to log in with a full Google account to use YouTube on Android. It's pretty frustrating, but that's how Google has set it up. You can't just add a YouTube account independently without the Google account access. Pretty ridiculous, right?
True, but just keep in mind that there really isn't a standalone YouTube account. They all funnel through your Google account. I get it, you want to maintain a separate identity for uploading while keeping your personal browsing private, but that doesn’t seem to be an option right now.
Some people suggest using third-party apps like Revanced or MicroG, but you might still encounter issues if you want to keep it simple and avoid linking to Google. Definitely a hassle for those trying to keep accounts separate!
