I'm putting together a new PC and I'm planning to use a Corsair RM750x (2024) power supply. I've checked PCPartPicker, and it estimates my system's wattage at around 611W with the Gigabyte 5080 graphics card. However, I know there can be power spikes. My build includes a 9850X3D CPU with a Thermalright 120 EVO cooler, a Gigabyte X870 Eagle WiFi7 motherboard, either a Gigabyte WF OC 5070TI or 5080 GPU (I'd prefer the 5080), Kingston Fury RGB 6000MHz RAM, and two 2TB SSDs. I'm wondering if the RM750x will be sufficient or if I should consider upgrading to an 850W power supply, downgrading my GPU, or taking other power-saving measures. Any advice would be appreciated!

It could work, but I'd recommend being cautious. Since you're already close to the threshold with those power spikes, a stronger PSU might be wise. You could save some cash by opting for slower RAM, which won't impact the 9850X3D’s performance much, allowing you to invest in a more robust power supply.

I get that! If you're already committed to the RM750x, maybe consider selling it for an 850W? The 5070ti is a solid choice for 1440p if you decide to downgrade, especially since your current setup is running fine.
