Can My First PC Build Compete with a PS5?

I'm building my first gaming PC for around €595, and I'm wondering how it stacks up against a PS5 in terms of performance. Here are the specs:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600
- GPU: ASUS Dual Radeon RX 6600 V2 8 GB GDDR6
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B550M K (mATX)
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 16 GB
- SSD: Crucial P3 Plus 500 GB NVMe
- PSU: MSI MAG A650BN 650W
- Case: Mars Gaming MC-1000

My main use will be gaming at 1080p and some 1440p, playing games like GTA VI, GTA V, RDR2, Cyberpunk, Hogwarts Legacy, and COD. I've gone for a budget-focused approach, picking up mostly second-hand parts. Here's what I want to know:
1. Will this setup outperform a PS5?
2. Can it run GTA VI well at 1080p or 1440p?
3. Are there any components I should consider upgrading?

It sounds like you may have made some compromises with this build. An AM5 setup could have provided better future-proofing, or maybe just put the money towards a PS5 for those games you're wanting to play. That being said, if you're set on PC, consider going for a higher-end build for serious gaming!

Definitely consider grabbing a second-hand GPU. You could likely find an RX 6700 XT for around your budget, and that would give you a notable edge over the PS5. Also, keep an eye on prices for the Ryzen 5; you might score it cheaper elsewhere!

Your CPU should handle most tasks well, but the GPU might hold you back a bit. Ideally, you’d want something like a 6700 XT to really outperform a PS5, which will give you a solid lead in most games. For now, the RX 6600 is decent, but it's more on par with the PS5's capabilities. Look for a better GPU if you want to step it up!

Yep, in terms of raw specs, the PS5's GPU is basically an RX 6700 (non-XT) or similar. To really beat it, aim for a 6700 XT or even a bit beyond that, like the 7800 XT.

Honestly, it might be tough to beat the PS5 at your budget. The PS5 is optimized for a single set of specs, while PC gaming can be more variable. You might need a more expensive setup to really outpace the PS5 comfortably, especially for smoother performance in newer games.

I agree! For casual gaming, a PS5 is super convenient. If you're looking for a more straightforward experience without worrying about specs and drivers, you might just be happier with the console.
