I have a Philips 33" LED TV and just spilled some room temperature sweetened tea onto it, with a significant amount getting into the back vent while it was plugged in. I immediately unplugged it and flipped the TV upside down to let the liquid drain out. Do you think giving it a week to dry will help, or is it likely a lost cause due to the amount of liquid that got inside?

Honestly, I wouldn’t feel safe leaving it plugged in again without professional help. The fire risk, while not huge, is still there. Better safe than sorry!
I’ve washed my PC parts before in the shower, then baked them at a low temp to dry. Water’s not the best because it can leave deposits, but isopropyl is definitely a better option! If your TV was pricey, it’s worth a shot to try cleaning it; it can’t hurt.
Did your TV turn off before you unplugged it? If it was still on, there might be hope, but you'll need to act quickly. Try cleaning out any moisture with isopropyl and maybe an old toothbrush. Just be careful of high voltage inside—if you’re not experienced with electronics, it might be time to look for a new one.
At least it wasn’t warm tea! That could have made things worse, right?
If you can open it up and clean it with 99% isopropyl alcohol, there’s a chance it could work again. Just make sure to let it dry longer than a week if you go that route! No guarantees, though.
When would be a good time to bring my TV to a technician? Should I wait the week to dry it first?
It was still on with the little blue light before I unplugged it. Hope cleaning can help!
