I'm trying to figure out if the Ryzen 8400F is good enough for gaming at 1080p with 120 FPS. There's a price difference of $50 between the 8400F and the 7500F in my country. I want to play at medium to high settings and I've got a monitor that supports 120 FPS, so I'd love to get some insights on whether the 8400F can deliver.

From what I gather, the Ryzen 8400F is about as good as the Intel 13400F, which has more reviews. You might barely hit 120 FPS in Cyberpunk and RDR2, but it could struggle with KCD2, likely staying below 80 FPS.
Yeah, the Ryzen 8400F should be fine for entry-level gaming. It’s not the top of the line, but it can handle most games at decent settings without too much trouble.
It really depends on the games you want to play. For older or indie games, the 8400F can manage 120 FPS quite well. Newer titles, though, might push it.
Just a heads up, make sure you have a dedicated GPU since the F versions lack integrated graphics. If you’ve got an RX 6700XT, that should help a lot!
Yes, I have the RX 6700XT!
Just to add, if you're looking at benchmarks, the 7500F does 20-30% better in higher FPS scenarios. However, at 120 FPS, both CPUs perform similarly, which might ease your decision.

I've got games like RDR2, Cyberpunk, GTA, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance on my list, but I'm not into multiplayer FPS.
