I'm wondering if smart TVs can actually store any audio clips, even when they're turned off or unplugged. I have this older Samsung smart TV from around 2018 that's been unplugged for months. When I plugged it back in to watch something, the screen glitched briefly, and then I could swear I heard a muffled audio clip that sounded like my voice saying something I don't even remember. There were no apps open, and the history was clear. My partner wasn't home, so they couldn't have been messing with it. Is it possible for TVs to retain or play audio clips without power?

Nope, they can’t store audio without power. If your TV was unplugged, there’s no way it could save or play any audio. Think about it: if it could, we'd have some seriously advanced tech by now!
It's probably just a glitch or some system noise during startup!
I read that some smart TVs have issues with recording audio without a mic, especially if it’s older. But plenty of people joke about gadgets trying to talk to us. Probably just some weird noise while booting up!
What if it was a message from aliens?
For a TV to store data, it generally needs power. Your model likely doesn’t even have any internal audio recording feature, especially since it was from 2018. If it made a sound upon startup, that could just be a normal sound effect from the manufacturer or some minor glitch.
It’s a funny thought, but probably some random audio file from its cache or a glitch. Your TV might have had some data retained just before it powered down, but it definitely wouldn’t store any audio without power. Your voice clip idea sounds like a conspiracy theory joke!
You never know! TV tech can be strange sometimes.
But if it can't record without power, then what could have caused that sound?
