I found a used PC with a 6700XT and I'm curious if it can run games smoothly at 1440p. I'd love to hear about your experiences or any benchmarks you've seen!

You might want to check some YouTube benchmarks for the specific games you're looking to play at 1440p. That'll give you a good idea of what to expect performance-wise.
I've got a 6700XT, and it performs well for 1440p gaming—getting over 100 FPS on medium to high settings for titles released before 2023. For newer games, especially those on Unreal Engine 5, I tend to see around 60 FPS at the same settings. It really does depend on the games you enjoy and what frame rates you're aiming for.
It's a decent budget card. My 6750XT handles 1440p on high/ultra settings well, delivering 80-100 FPS depending on the game. If you're looking for a little more power, a used 6800XT could also be a solid option.
I’d say that while the 6700XT was great when it launched, it's starting to struggle with newer titles at 1440p, especially if you're looking for ray tracing. You'd probably need to rely on features like FSR and accept some hiccups. If you want a smoother 1440p experience, consider upgrading to an RX 6800 or a 4070.
I bought a 6750XT a while back, but I upgraded to a 4070ti soon after because it just couldn't keep up at 1440p like the 3060 in my wife's PC. It was okay, but if you need better performance, the 4070ti is the way to go.
A 3060 is definitely slower than a 6750XT. You might want to check your system for potential bottlenecks!
'Smoothly' can mean different things to different people. If you're okay with mixing medium and high settings, aiming for around 60 FPS should be quite doable in most games. For a console-like experience, check out Digital Foundry's PS5 settings to mirror those—since the PS5 uses a similar but toned-down version of the 6700. But if you're aiming for 120 FPS, your game library might get a bit smaller.
I’ve compared the 3060 with my 6750XT, and I'm getting 35-50% more FPS. My friend has the 3060 with a better CPU, but I still outperform him.
