Hey everyone! I hope this isn't too silly of a question, but I'm feeling a bit anxious about a file transfer. My mom wants me to move all her photos and videos from her Huawei tablet to a new SanDisk flash drive, and I'll be using my laptop to do it. The thing is, I'm not sure if that tablet is free of viruses, and it's also running really slow. I'm worried that if there's any malware on her tablet, it might infect my laptop when I connect it. Can anyone advise me on whether that's a possibility? Thanks a lot for your help! I really appreciate it!

It's definitely good to be cautious! To be on the safe side, I'd recommend downloading a virus scanning app like Malwarebytes on the tablet if you're able to. That way, you can scan for any potential threats before transferring anything to your laptop. If getting apps on that old Huawei is tricky, consider transferring the files to your laptop without plugging in the tablet directly – maybe use a cloud service for the transfer instead, which might help avoid any risk.
I've been in a similar situation! If your mom's tablet is running really slow, that might be a sign it has some issues. If you can access her files through a secure method, do that. It's a good idea to have some antivirus software on your laptop just in case, or scan the files after the transfer. Stay cautious and good luck!
Thanks for the tip! I wish I could install apps on the tablet, but it's a hassle. I guess cloud transfer might be the safest bet here!
