Hey everyone! I'm about to build my first PC with a budget of around $2500 AUD ($1630 USD). I'd love your feedback on my parts list to see if I've made any major mistakes. I'll be using this rig for gaming (mostly single-player games), programming for university, and some photo editing.

Here's the link to my parts list: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/ZYjX74.

I'm also considering swapping the CPU for a Ryzen 5 7600x and the GPU for a 9070 XT. Here's that updated link: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/8BK8cx.

Thanks for any help!

I definitely recommend swapping for the Ryzen 5 7600x and the 9070 XT! It'll suit your needs really well, especially for gaming.

Do you mind explaining why?

I’d stick with the 8-core CPU and the 9070, if you can afford it. More games are utilizing 8 cores these days, and it’ll be smoother for you when you have multiple applications like Discord running. Check this build out: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/4fPs74

For your budget, I think the 5070 ti would be a great choice over both the 7900xt and 9070xt, particularly for single-player games. Nvidia’s ray tracing is really good and it’ll be a game-changer for those types of games.

I’d also suggest looking into the Ryzen 7600x3d for the CPU; the V-cache is awesome for gaming. And maybe consider switching to CL30 RAM for lower latency at just a little extra cost. Overall, your build looks solid!

Yeah, I checked out the 5070 ti but it’s around $200 AUD more than the 9070 XT. I’ll definitely look at the CPU and RAM options though, thanks!
