Can’t Delete a Non-Existent App Taking Up Space on My PC

I'm facing a weird issue on my Windows 11 system. There's an app that supposedly isn't even installed—specifically, Red Dead Redemption 2—but the installed apps tab claims it's hogging a massive 199GB of space on my hard drive. When I try to delete it, I get an error message saying "windows cannot find (file path) make sure you've typed the name correctly then try again." Does anyone have any idea how to resolve this?

Have you tried a file search using the file manager? Sometimes files can be hidden away. If that doesn't work, using a tool like Space Sniffer might help you visualize where your disk space is going, even if that didn’t yield results for you before.

I already searched using file manager and couldn’t find anything, but I'll give Space Sniffer another go.

Since you're seeing a huge space allocation but can't find the app, it could be a mistake in the UI. Try uninstalling or managing it via your app manager rather than just deleting it. Sometimes apps have multiple locations on your computer. A good step would be to check the registry for any remnants or use a program to find what’s actually taking up space. If those tools don't show it, there’s a chance it’s just a UI glitch more than anything.

Typically, Steam games are found in the path: Program Files (x86)Steamsteamappscommon. Double-check this folder to see if any trace of Red Dead Redemption 2 is there, even if you didn't install it through Steam. It might still be lurking around in that directory.
