Can’t Find My Home WiFi on My Laptop – What Should I Do?

Hey everyone! I recently got a laptop from my dad, and I'm having a tough time connecting it to my home WiFi. It's a Dell running Windows 10 Pro, and after doing a factory reset, I noticed that while all my neighbors' networks show up, my home router is missing from the list. I've tried a network reset and followed various command prompts I found online but nothing seems to work. The drivers and Windows are up to date too.

I can get online using an Ethernet cable, but I really want a proper WiFi connection so I can relax and use the laptop anywhere. I've heard some folks mention I might need to contact my ISP, but I'm worried they'll just confuse me more, so I'd appreciate any specific advice on what to say when I call them. Thanks so much for your help!

It sounds like the issue is more likely with your laptop or possibly the router settings rather than an ISP problem. If other devices can connect just fine, then your laptop might need a USB WiFi adapter to connect properly. If no devices are finding your WiFi network, then the router might be the issue. You may have to get into more detailed troubleshooting or just call your ISP if they provided the router to get it sorted out. They should be able to help without too much hassle!

Would a USB adapter work as a long-term solution for WiFi?
