Can’t Get My New RTX 5070 to Display After Upgrading from 3080

I recently purchased a used RTX 5070 Founders Edition to replace my RTX 3080 Founders Edition, but after the swap, I'm getting no video signal from the 5070. I've tried different display ports and cables, but nothing works; the 3080 still functions perfectly.

My setup includes a B550 motherboard paired with a Ryzen 5600X CPU, and I'm using a PCIe Gen 4 riser cable because of the limited space in my small form factor case. While the 3080 was installed, I changed the PCIe mode to Gen 4 in the BIOS, but I'm not sure if that setting remains when switching to the 5070. Since my 5600X doesn't have integrated graphics, I can't check the BIOS settings after installing the 5070.

Could upgrading to a PCIe Gen 5 riser solve this issue, or does anyone have other suggestions? I'd appreciate any help I can get!

First, make sure your motherboard's BIOS is up to date. Sometimes, compatibility issues arise with newer graphics cards requiring the latest firmware. Also, confirm that you're using a power supply that can handle the 5070, as different cards have different power requirements. It’s worth checking if there's any firmware update for the card itself or the motherboard, just in case.

Did you verify if the 5070 was working when you purchased it? If you have a confirmation that it was running fine before buying it, that’s great! If not, try to get in touch with the seller to ensure there weren't any hidden issues. If everything's good on that front, then you might also want to consider testing it in another system if you can, just to rule out any faults with your current setup. It could save you some headaches!

Yeah, I saw timestamps from the seller showing it worked, and they had solid trade history, so I'm hopeful that's not the issue!
