Can’t Save Files on My Windows 11 SSD – Permission Issue

I've just installed Windows 11 on a new build and updated all my drivers without any problems. However, I'm encountering a frustrating issue where I can't save anything to the C drive where I installed the OS. I'm getting a message that says, "You don't have permission to save in this location. Contact the administrator to obtain permission," even though there's only one account on this PC. I found a video that may help, but I'm not very tech-savvy and unsure if it would actually solve my problem.

It's crucial to be careful when tweaking your system's BIOS settings or disk configurations since that can lead to data loss. Always make sure to back up your data before attempting any changes. Have you checked if your SSD is reaching its end-of-life? If it is, then it might go into read-only mode, which would definitely cause the issues you're facing. Checking the SMART status may also provide insights.

Not being able to save directly to the root of the drive is actually quite common. Windows often requires you to create a folder in Explorer on the C drive and save your files there instead. This is just a precaution to keep system folders from cluttering up. Try making a new folder and save your files there. It should work without any permission errors.

That sounds odd. In my experience, I was able to save directly to the C drive on previous PCs without this issue. Are you sure there's not something funky going on with the permissions for your user account? Double-check your user account type, it might be set wrong.
